Job #5294 – Associate Engineer
This Associate Engineer position supports technical reviews and field verification of electric and natural gas energy efficiency projects for the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Engineering & Inspections Teams and is based in the Berlin, CT.
Primary Responsibilities & Tasks;
Performing technical engineering reviews for electric and natural gas energy efficiency saving measures such as energy efficient lighting solutions, HVAC, process and controls for Eversource customers accurately and timely.
Performing on-site field compliance of proposed and/or installed energy-saving measures within the clients' service territory accurately and timely. Responsibilities include review of inspection request materials, efficient and timely scheduling of field compliance inspections, performing accurate on-site verification, communicating with internal and external partners, and clearly documenting inspection results within required timelines.
Provide management support including data analytics, maintenance and updating of calculation spreadsheets, tracking system data entry, development of new calculation tools, report generation, as well as other tasks as assigned.
Assisting CT Energy Efficiency Engineers with technical engineering reviews for electric and natural gas energy efficiency saving measures for Eversource customers.
Effective communication and responsiveness is essential for all aspects of the position.
Additional duties and related tasks may be assigned.
A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Energy, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Energy Efficiency is required.
Experience with implementation of energy-efficient equipment and systems improvement for lighting, heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, compressed air systems, refrigeration, energy-saving control strategies, or other systems with energy-saving potential. Knowledge of energy modeling and equipment energy-usage calculations and field auditing techniques is helpful.
Positive previous work experience working effectively in a team demonstrating effective engineering and project management skills.
Candidate must provide their own reliable transportation for extensive driving throughout the clients' CT service territory to customer sites and be capable to regularly and consistently perform physical tasks such as extensive walking thru customer sites and climbing fixed ladders.
The position requires solid understanding of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word. Demonstrations of exceptional customer service and communication skills and professionalism are required. Candidates pursuing or interested in Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certifications and/or candidates with experience in an Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) are preferred.
